Gabriel

Connection: Gabe emailed John White in Denver last week to inquire about house church. John forwarded his email to me. I emailed Gabe, he called the following day, and we met for breakfast today.

The Meeting:
Gabe and I met this morning and told each other our stories over oatmeal and cinnamon rolls. Gabe is graduate of Azusa Pacific University and Fuller Seminary. After years of service in a mega-church he has been feeling like God was taking him down a different path.
Gabe is planning to plant a house church this summer in the Pasadena area. We will be meeting on a regular basis so that I might coach and assist him. I am excited about this new relationship. Gabe is definitely a harvest worker

Two Jims and a Mark

Connection: Don Overstreet, a professor at Golden Gate Seminary in Brea and a church-planting strategist, arranged a meeting with 3 local house church planters and myself. Eddie Pate, the director of the Seminary, also joined us.
Jim Wallace is a police officer and the leader of Rising Tide a unique ministry that trains college students to go out and share their faith in real life situations. Mark is a house church leader in the Santa Barbara area and Jim Abell is the leader of the Light house church network in Highland.

The Meeting:
The meeting began by all of us telling our stories and sharing about what God is doing in our communities. We continued to talk about the house church movement. Our discussion went for almost three hours and we only scratched the service. We planned another meeting for next month. This meeting was an exciting answer to prayer. We have been praying for more local harvest workers.
